Deborah Edmondson, has 30+ years of marketing experience in the public and private sectors. Her career includes marketing, brand management and merchandising positions with major corporations such as the JC Penney Company, Johnson Publishing Company and Essence Communications; and she has also served as a consultant to several corporations in Asia and Africa developing the American market as part of their customer base. In 1995, Deborah established Gazelle Communications Group, a multi-service agency focusing on creating integrated marketing concepts for new and small businesses.
Throughout her corporate career Deborah was rewarded for her achievements. The Black Retail Action Group recognized her as a Corporate Achiever; she is in the Women's Corporate Hall of Fame for the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women and was also recognized by the EDGES Group, Inc. as a New Generation Leader. As an entrepreneur Deborah successfully completed Leadership Hilton Head Island-Bluffton and has served the community through several board appointments i.e., Leadership Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Board of Regents, The Penn Center, Communities in Schools, Programs for Exceptional People and United Way of the Lowcountry.
Deborah cherishes the Lowcountry lifestyle. Deborah is married and resides with her husband, Dr. Clarence Edmondson, Pastor of First Union African Baptist Church of Daufuskie Island and their daughter Naomi in Bluffton, South Carolina.
